I've always worked hard in the sessions I have with clients, but because I love what I do it's never a challenge to find the motivation, energy, and passion needed to sustain this! Quality therapy really does require that the therapist truly love this field, and any client (or colleague) of mine can attest to my desire to be in the role of therapist to individuals and couples of all gender expressions and sexual orientations.
Sometimes healthy relationships are a mystery so I'm sought out to help people gain more skills at being the partner you want to be. Perhaps you experience depression and want to get back to engaging in your life in meaningful ways. People often seek me out specifically for help moving from feeling stressed and anxious to being more relaxed and at peace.
Relationship Counseling in Seattle
It's never too early, or too late, for relationship therapy and I love guiding couples through whatever situation they find themselves in. I use various relationship therapy approaches, including the Gottman Therapy approach through the Gottman Institute, to assist couples in communication, conflict-management skills, emotional connection, and many of the other lovely challenges we all face in our relationships. Relationships can be tough, even great ones, but a trained and competent couples therapist can absolutely help to add more ease and joy into your day-to-day lives together. What makes relationships not only last but thrive is actually well understood, thanks to over 45 years of research through the Gottman Institute, and my job is to help you both to bring that knowledge into your own union. Let me use the skills and training I have as a therapist for couples and individuals to help get you where you want to go. Whatever challenges you two are facing, working with a qualified therapist opens new possibilities for hope, and creates changes that last.
Other specialties I offer include adults with ADHD, parents of children with behavior problems, and problematic technology use.
Education and Experience
I have a Master of Psychology (Counseling Specialization) from the Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS) program of Saybrook University. Though I have training in a number of therapeutic disciplines, I have received specialized advanced training in Lifespan Integration (LI), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy Plus (CBT+).
Some non-therapy passions include travel, playing music, and enjoying obscure board games with family & friends.
Feel free to request working with me by reaching out to our intake coordinator, Makenzie, to set up an intake call with her.
