Mental Health Q&A: Psychiatric medication & non-medication approaches

What about medications for anxiety, stress, and depression for help through this pandemic?

  • While not every therapists agrees on whether or not to bring in psychiatric medications, I say that for some of us, our brains and bodies simply need it;
  • We recommend that if you start medication that you start psychotherapy as well;
  • If you prefer Western medicine, you might talk to your primary doctor. If you prefer Eastern medicine, you might check into look into naturopathes;
  • If doing Western medicine, try to get evaluated by a psychiatrist or an ARNP rather than your primary doctor
