One of my longtime mentors—and a local legend in the field of sex therapy—Dr. Tina Schermer Sellers, recently sat down with Dr. Tom Walsh for an engaging conversation on the iHeart Radio podcast Men’s Health Monthly. Dr. Walsh directs the University of Washington’s Men’s Health Center, and Tina leads the Northwest Institute on Intimacy (NWIOI), where I have the honor of serving on the Board.

Tina’s work with NWIOI has created an incredible community of sex therapists, educators, and other professionals dedicated to promoting sexual health and relational wellness. She’s also one of those rare people whose depth of knowledge is matched by her warmth and compassion—so it’s no surprise that she’s often invited to speak on complex topics like men’s sexual health.

This particular interview is only 30 minutes long, but it covers a wide range of issues that we hear about often in our work at Clarity Counseling Seattle. From shame and performance anxiety to communication around desire, Drs. Sellers and Walsh offer real insights that apply not just to men, but to anyone looking to better understand the emotional and relational aspects of sex.

If you're someone who’s ever wondered how sexual health ties into self-esteem, stress, identity, or relational connection, this interview is worth your time. You can listen to it here: Men's Health Monthly – March 2021.

Resources and Support for Men’s Sexual Health

While men’s sexual concerns are common, they’re not always easy to talk about—and that’s something we work hard to change. Whether you’re navigating challenges around performance, low desire, shame, or simply feeling disconnected from your partner, know that support is available.

Our team offers therapy for men, couples counseling, and sex and intimacy therapy tailored to help men better understand and heal their relationship to sex, intimacy, and themselves.

If you’re curious to explore any of these topics in a therapeutic setting—or just want to ask a few questions—we’d be glad to talk. Reach out here to get started.
