Many of my clients come to therapy hoping to break free from old patterns, heal relational wounds, and move toward a life that feels steadier, braver, and more fulfilling. I create a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as you explore your experiences, clarify your needs, and strengthen your relationships. Therapy with me offers the opportunity to slow down, gain clarity, and reconnect with your own sense of agency and possibility.
How I Work
My work with couples and individuals draws from the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Somatic practices. My approach is collaborative, attuned, and depth-oriented, as I pay close attention to how your relationships, emotions, body, and history are woven together. In our time together, we’ll address what’s happening now and also gently explore the deeper roots that sustain stuck patterns so that you can break out of them. Every session is tailored to your values and your goals, and at a pace that works for you. Lasting change comes from both insight and action, so we’ll balance deeper reflection with practical tools you can apply right away. My goal is for our work to not only help you through immediate challenges but to also strengthen your resilience for whatever comes next. For the individuals I help, I enjoy working with people who are drawn to a somatic approach, since so many concerns can benefit from this perspective. In particular, I find somatic work especially helpful for anxiety, depression, grief, obsessions, and PTSD. I also deeply value supporting clients who are interested in self-exploration and spiritual/existential issues, and who want to take a depth-oriented path in their inner work and therapy. With couples, I’m especially interested in exploring attachment dynamics, relationship anxiety, and the ways communication and understanding can be strengthened.
Experience that Informs My Work
Before joining Clarity, I supported clients across a range of settings, which taught me to meet people wherever they are. I have experience using evidence-based approaches, and in addition to helping individuals and couples, I have facilitated skills groups and skills coaching for a number of my client’s challenges. Experience in earlier roles in my career have strengthened my ability to stay grounded, think systemically, and respond skillfully. Years of personal yoga and mindfulness practice, in addition to formal yoga teacher training, supports my somatic and nervous-system-awareness lens. This combination of experiences allows me to bring both structure and flexibility into the therapy process, meeting each client’s unique needs. Whether we’re working through a moment of crisis or nurturing gradual growth, I approach every session with curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to helping you feel more at home in your life.
What You Can Expect
Clients often describe sessions with me as steady, curious, and compassion-forward. I’ll help you slow down, notice what’s happening in the moment, and build skills that make everyday life and relationships feel safer and more connected…whether you’re repairing a rupture, navigating a life transition, or simply wanting to grow.
Outside the therapy room, I love making ceramics, spending time with friends, and finding a warm spot in the sun!

They’re seeking therapy to feel more grounded, connected, and seen. I provide both in-person counseling in Seattle and online therapy across Washington State, depending on what feels most supportive to each client.
Rosa’s Specialty Areas:

Professional Credentials:

- Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy
- Certified Prepare / Enrich Facilitator
- Group facilitator, author, and speaker
- Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and Washington Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT)
As a Certified Prepare / Enrich Facilitator, I love helping couples strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and build lasting emotional and sexual intimacy. I’ve led quarterly couples workshops for years, focused on empowering each partner and cultivating resilience in the relationship as a whole.
My clinical experience spans work with cross-cultural couples, new parents, adult children of immigrants, and clients navigating trauma, grief, and major life shifts. My therapeutic style is rooted in Family Systems Theory and Narrative Therapy, supported by training in the Prepare / Enrich curriculum, Play Therapy for grief (Atlas Institute), and Esther Perel’s Turning Conflict Into Connection.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I led community development initiatives for over 20 years and raised over $1M for grassroots organizations. I’m also the proud author of two books: the young adult novel The Monster In My Room, which explores themes of childhood sexual trauma and emotional healing, and the children’s book Tot’s Big House, which addresses time management, courage, and family connection. My upcoming book on romantic relationships is set to release in 2025.
As a therapist, my goal is to create a space where all voices are heard and valued. I meet each client where they are and support them in discovering what they feel, why it’s happening, and how to move forward with purpose and self-trust. You deserve a treatment plan you help shape — one that reflects your strengths, values, and goals.
In family therapy, I draw from personal and spiritual values when clients choose to integrate them. While I don’t practice Christian counseling, my Christian experience allows me to support clients in exploring faith, identity, and personal meaning in inclusive and empowering ways.
Outside the therapy room, quality time is my love language. I find joy in yoga, movies, beach days, karaoke, long walks, game nights, and travel — always making space for connection and self-reflection.
