I work with individuals and couples across a range of relationship structures—including people already in relationships and those who hope to be—who want deeper connection with themselves, the people they love, and the lives they're creating.
People often come to me when something important no longer feels the way they know it could. You may long for more closeness with your partner, yet find yourself caught in the same painful cycles. Perhaps your sex life has become automatic or lost its vitality. Maybe parenthood, stress, or the demands of everyday life have quietly reshaped your relationship in ways you never intended, leaving you unsure how to name what you want or afraid your needs are too much.
My approach is about getting beneath the surface. Rather than jumping straight to fixing problems, I slow things down so we can understand what's really happening underneath them. I believe many of the struggles that bring people to therapy can become opportunities for greater awareness, deeper connection, and lasting growth. Together, we work toward relationships that feel more secure, greater emotional freedom, and the ability to stay close to someone else without losing yourself.
My practice welcomes people across many relationship structures, including monogamous and consensually non-monogamous relationships, as well as LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples, and those for whom faith or spirituality remains important. I strive to create a space grounded in curiosity, respect, and genuine presence, where you can explore what matters to you openly and honestly.

How I Work
My professional training and experience have shaped a presence-based, experiential, and relational approach to therapy. Rather than focusing primarily on changing thoughts or solving problems, I often slow things down so we can understand what's happening beneath the surface. The struggles we experience can sometimes point us toward parts of ourselves or our relationships that need greater attention, understanding, or care.
The approaches that inform my work share a common belief: lasting change often happens through new experiences of connection, awareness, embodiment, emotional safety, repair, and integration. Whether I'm working with an individual or a couple, I try to create a therapeutic space grounded in curiosity, respect, genuine presence, and directness. Over time, this can help clients develop greater emotional flexibility, resilience, authenticity, and confidence in how they relate to themselves and others.
I believe healing is rarely about becoming someone different. More often, it's about recovering the parts of ourselves that have been hidden, forgotten, or left behind and integrating them into a life that feels more wholehearted, intentional, and alive.
Experience That Informs My Work
I have had a lifelong curiosity about what shapes human beings and how people grow, heal, and create meaningful lives. My own life, including my marriage and the many seasons of growth and repair my wife and I have experienced together, has reinforced my belief that relationships are among our greatest opportunities for healing and transformation.
Outside the therapy room, my background in massage therapy, personal training, mindfulness, and traditional contemplative practices continues to shape how I understand healing—not as something we think our way into, but as something that unfolds as we reconnect with ourselves, our relationships, and what matters most.
What You Can Expect
Therapy with me is a collaborative process rooted in curiosity, honesty, and genuine connection. I won't rush to fix you or tell you who you should become. Instead, we'll slow down together and explore with openness and compassion, creating enough space to connect with what's happening beneath the surface. My hope is that you'll feel deeply seen and understood, while also feeling challenged and supported enough to grow in the directions that matter most to you.
Outside the therapy room, you'll usually find me spending time with my wife, daughters, and community on the Olympic Peninsula, working on our homestead, strength training, or spending time outdoors. I find grounding in spiritual and contemplative practices that shape my life with humility and gratitude. Growth, to me, is not a destination but an ongoing way of living, and I strive to bring that into the therapy room.
I have worked with many women who have seen Justin as part of couples counseling and they have felt his support and guidance were extremely helpful for their relationship. Justin is a kind, compassionate and highly experienced therapist who I would recommend without hesitation!
